THE BIRTH OF BEAUTY

2001On the 30th of October 2001, somewhere inside a beige-colored traditional Japanese house at Kagawa, Japan— Primrose Hanaokei Añonuevo Ohara was born. Her father, Isamu Ohara, carried her in his arms- admiring his little joy. Then she finally hears her mother- Roselina Yves Añonuevo Ohara- calling out to her name, with her brother, Preston Haruki Añonuevo Ohara— who had a wide smile displayed on his face as he stared at his little sister.Primrose grew up to be the child that everyone loves. Despite growing up in a different country, she learned to embrace both cultures from her parents– as a Filipino-Japanese. According to her own family and from the neighborhood itself, the kid was not that hard to go along with. She was once called the “golden child” as she radiates a smile as sweet as honey, paired with her eyes that are glowing bright like the sun. Everyone calls her “sunshine” for her presence brings comfort and warmth.2009At 8 years old, Primrose grew interested in modeling and fashion. Knowing her mother— Roselina, who once worked as a stylist for numerous top models, this pushed Primrose more to dig deeper into the said field. She used to steal her mama’s stilettos from her cabinet, trying it on to herself with hands on her hips while imitating the models she watches on the television. She wants to live like them, like a princess with a shining, pink tiara on her head.2014At 13 years old, the whole Ohara family left their home at Kagawa to live at Roselina Yves’ old hometown at Western Visayas, Guimaras Island. With this, the ocean becomes Primrose’s comfort place. She says that the waves that crash along the seashore and rocks are how she looks into life and although it’s scary, complicated, and unpredictable— she could enjoy it.2016When she turned 15 years old, Primrose had a fresh start as a model by freelancing on commercials, advertisements, even on her school’s magazines and newspapers. This is the beginning of her career and continuous growth of love for fashion. She was first introduced as Primress Ohara, the daughter of the infamous Japanese couple— Isamu Ohara, a known chef and retired modeling coach and Yves Ohara, a known fashion stylist— before the general public grew fond of her and before her career bloomed.2019At age 18, with numerous offers and endorsements from different brands— Primrose decided to widen her career more. The beauty who was once known as Primress Ohara, was formally introduced to the world as Hana Rioki Aemoni. She became the face of everything all around the globe— CHANEL, PRADA, VERSACÉ, GUCCI, etc.2020The life from Japan to Philippines became an inspiration to the lady to explore her life more. So when her family decided to go back, Rioki chose to stay with a family friend— Jonathan Mariano Borja, who later became the woman’s official guardian and personal bodyguard. She temporarily lived with the man’s family at Antipolo, Rizal where she decided to build her own floral shop and become a florist. Later on, she decided to move to her own condominium at Ayala Avenue, Makati.2021-presentHundreds of photoshoots, guestings, magazine interviews, runway shows, fashion events— despite these heavy and busy schedules, she never fails to keep track of her studies. She studied Humanities and Social Sciences, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as her college program at De La Salle University - Manila.Mondays to Sundays, she often goes to Casa La BELLEZA, a brand agency that was established by a close friend of hers— where she works as a model and the company’s Chief Financial Officer.Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays— depending on the schedule, she goes to the university to pursue her degree.Currently, Rioki is now residing at BGC, Taguig City with a house she bought for herself. She is accompanied by her white Angora cat, Valentine, and her personal bodyguard, Jo.
